Hi, I'm Jeremy. I make sound art by glitching things that you know and trying to create something new from it. I make music for the ADHD generation. I'm the Pied Piper your parents warned you about.
I've had some success in a few remix contests, and had some artists that I highly respect take an interest in my work. I am grateful for those opportunities because it gave me the confidence to continue making my art.
I really like taking concepts from visual arts and applying them to sound art. I've been fascinated by George Seurat's use of small dots of color to allow the eye to create a composite image. I attempt to do the same thing with tiny bits of sound, and let the ear combine the sounds to create a composite song.
I also have a cat named Nashville Thunderpussy, and he is awesome.
So when I remix things or mash them up…there’s always a reason behind the choice that I made. Sometimes multiple layers. Sometimes I create a narrative or join thoughts. In this clip I combined Eminem’s “Rap God” with Iggy’s “Goddess” to transition with “Goddess of Love” into the Lady Gaga/Bananarama “Venus” mash up. But then there’s a small backbeat barely heard from Westside Connection’s “Bow Down” just to reinforce it. But on a deeper level there are thoughts built into this that I can’t put into words. I know I’m showing differences in power and speaking about gender…and it’s all in my head. And the only way I can express it is my combining these sounds together. My art is expressing things that I have no other way to express. This is the language of my soul. And I’m speaking to you. Hoping you will understand me.
So…this is what happens when you open up one window with @ladygaga’s acapella for Applause, and then accidentally open another window with the instrumental, and the planets just happen to align as does the rhythm of the two tracks. #Glitches are everywhere. And they are beautiful. #ladygaga #artpop #applause #glitch
Britney Spears & Lady Gaga - Perfume vs Swime (Haus of Glitch “Perfume On A Pig” Mix)
What started out as a simple remix became a way for me to express some deep-seated emotions. I started just remixing Lady Gaga’s “Swine,” but the acapella wasn’t very clean, lots of static and pretty much unusable. No matter what I did, no matter how pretty the music was you could hear how crappy the acapella was. And I thought to myself “This is like putting perfume on a pig.”
And so I decided to mash it up with Britney Spears’ “Perfume,” which incidentally was a pretty rough acapella as well. I used different lyrics at different times to represent the way I (or all of us) feel sometimes…this overwhelming feeling of being worthless no matter how much of a front we put up.
Sometimes I make my art for others to enjoy. Sometimes I make it just for me. But I still post both for everyone to hear…just in case what I made for me inspires someone else, or speaks to them. My only concern is making music that is honest to me and my experience. Other people liking it is just a bonus.
The hebrew title for Game of Thrones is actually literally translated to Games of the Throne. Because if we translated the english title literally, it would be the same as the Hebrew name for Musical Chairs.
